We have developed several safety training seminars, and these provide basic knowledge employees need to have to recognize potential hazards in the field, as well as from the drawing board.

This seminar provides the training that is required by current OSHA Standards.  Attendees to this type of seminar should be anyone in any position of authority  in any type of excavation work.  This is an intensive one-day, 8-hour course designed to assist contractors, engineers and architects, and other safety personnel in understanding and complying with the Trenching and Excavating Standard, by understanding the General Requirements, performing Soils Analysis, and in the use of Protective Systems.

Confined Space Entry

This seminar is a one-day, 8-hour course designed to educate all personnel involved in confined space entry.  This would include any construction contractors who have projects that create or require employees to work in "confined spaces".   The seminar discusses the hazards associated with confined space entry, including techniques, methods, and equipment used to ensure a safe entry.

Fall Protection

This seminar is a one-day, 8 hour course created to inform personnel of the available types and methods of fall protection to use.  This seminar will provide the training required by the current OSHA Standards, and will ensure that your company can have a "competent person" on site, to provide for employee safety.

Scaffolding Safety

This seminar relates to any type of construction work in which scaffolding, platforms or suspended scaffolds are used.  This 8-hour course provides the "competent person" with information needed to comply with the new Subpart L-Scaffolding Standard.

OSHA Basic Construction Safety Course

The "OSHA 10-hour Basic Construction Safety Course" has been designed to follow the required sections of the Construction Industry Standards prescribed by OSHA, and can be tailored for your company, if desired.  The course includes discussions in personal protective equipment, fire prevention, excavations, electrical safety, cranes, scaffolds, and tool safety.  Sheffer Engineering Company provides the training manuals and includes a copy of the Construction Industry Safety Standards.

New!

This seminar relates to the new Subpart R Standard for the proper design and erection of structural steel buildings.  This 8-hour course provides the knowledge necessary for the design engineer, fabricator, general contractor and the "competent person" for the steel erector with information needed to comply to ensure a safe worksite.

Additional Courses

There are four additional 4-hour courses that we offer: Advanced Trenching and Shoring, back Injury Prevention, Hazard Communication and Record Keeping.  All are designed to provide the "Competent Person" with information needed to maintain a safe work environment and understand the current OSHA Standards.
